		25 Years and still going strong...
		CLER Ministries is celebrating twenty-five years of ministry that has seen the program grow from a high school Church School class to comprehensive sexuality education programs offered in churches throughout the United States. The CLER Ministries “JUST SAY KNOW” ™ sexuality education programs grew out of the love and concern of a West Texas mother for her teenage daughter. In the fall of 1982, Linda Goddard, a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Midland, Texas, was facing the reality of her oldest daughter entering the dating world. Linda had grown up in a church setting that was totally lacking in any information about sexuality, but was heavy in imparting guilt and condemnation. She desperately wanted her three daughters to have accurate information about sexuality so they could make informed decisions and she also wanted them to understand God’s incredible plan for sexual intimacy.

		Ms. Goddard could not find a curriculum in 1982 that met her criteria so she undertook the daunting task of studying and designing a high school sexuality course that she would have given anything to have had when she was in high school. Twenty-five years later that course designed to be presented once, has been presented to almost 4,000 high school youth. She subsequently designed elementary, junior high, and adult courses and they have reached over 10,000 individuals. Today ministers who were part of the early courses are contacting CLER Ministries to have the program brought to their church families. Richard and Linda Goddard travel extensively training churches and communities to offer in-depth comprehensive sexuality education.
		The wonderful thing about this type of curriculum is that while it is very in-depth and educational it also reflects the in-depth spiritual dimension of sexuality. It helps youth and adults alike understand the wonder of their creation and the incredible plan for sexual intimacy. Rev. Linda Goddard, who is now a Licensed Minister with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) understands parents’ desire for their children to be educated while at the same time finding themselves completely incapable of imparting the necessary information. You cannot teach what you have not been taught!! The elementary and junior high programs have parents in attendance with their youth and learning alongside of them, thus opening up communication in the area of sexuality while educating both youth and parents.
		In 1988 the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) asked Rev. Goddard to design a weeklong sexuality and spirituality camp for youth the summer before they enter ninth grade. The camping program, “Created To Be Me” ™, or "Eighter's" ™ as it is more commonly known, has spread throughout Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, Louisiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, and this summer will be presented in Indiana and Florida. Over 4,000 soon-to-be ninth grade youth have participated in this exciting camping program. It has been an amazing twenty-five years of ministry!
